The EGR system fitted to many diesel engines recirculates part of the exhaust gases back in to the air intake. Removing or blanking off this system can help in keeping the inlet air clean and pure, keeping the inlet manifold temperature down and help to improve engine efficiency. Please note, these are for off road use only. From May the 20th 2018 the UK MOT laws are changing and if you remove and blank the EGR your car will fail the MOT.
