Are the zu wheels an 7x16 0r 8x16 as i couldn't see a size for  the d1,defender fitment

The wheels for Discovery/Range Rover Classic/Defender are 7x16.
If you have a P38 Range Rover or Discovery 2 they are 8x16.

I'll make the listings clearer tomorrow

Cheers Jake was hoping they where 8x16 for d1.Whats the biggest tyre  that could be used on a 7x16.

i had 35/10.50/16 on mine with no problems apart from the offset was crap needed wheel spacers

265mm = 10.5"
Thats about the widest you want to fit on a 7" rim

Around the 33"  Jake and like Scatt say around 12.5 wide not keen on the narrow look

255/85/16 stand at 33" tall but are only 10" wide but would work a treat on Zu's or any other 7" rim

We're not aware of a 12.5 Jungle Trekker  Huh
10.5 or 11.5 wide is the norm
