Hi Tim,
Not me mate!!
Would never hint - would just come right out and demand instant action!!

I am getting hounded by all the lunatics that participated and those that just don't believe the stories they have heard!!!

Just been through the photo's, reminded me so much of the excellent weekend.

Bathtub, I note you may well have 24 inches of clearance from tree stumps next time you're off roading in that neck of the woods.

I am expecting FAR more clearance from our car, it may well be into hundreds of miles

Dear all,
I think it time to give you all a little background to this years Baskiville Challenge and also todays most important engagement in Glasgow!

When Tony asked me to organise this years event I said no, when he asked again, I said maybe, when he asked me a third time and towered above me with that look in his eye you would just not want to cross - I said well ok then, why not!

I then had to persuade the rest of the team to buy into my foolishness and this proved easier than I thought - thank God.

Now to the tricky part - Tony wanted to pay us for putting the event together and in the true nature of all the events we do we said no!

Tony was not happy!!!

My thoughts - tough!!!

However we did reach a compromise that pleased both of these difficult parties (unstoppable force meets immoveable object) as follows:-

We would under no circumstances accept any money for arranging this event.

Tony would make a donation on behalf of the organisers, marshals & competitors to a charity of our agreed choice.

OK - so if we screw this up big time and it all falls apart, not only do we have a pile of unhappy competitors, an unhappy Tony, but also we put any donation to a charity at risk!

So no pressure then!!!

Nobody was more relieved than me at the end of this years Baskiville Challenge - that's for sure!!!

The feedback on the event appears positive - lucky or what!!!

So to todays little trip into Glasgow - a pleasure indeed.

I visited the Glasgow offices of The Childrens Hospice Association of Scotland with the most wonderful of duties - to present them with a cheque from all the competitors of this years Baskerville Challenge, WAB, SWCC, Organisers & Marshals to the value of £1000!!!

They were overwhelmed and delighted to recieve this sum, without any warning and especially at this time of year - asking that I pass on their most sincere thanks to all.

I would also like to add my thanks personally to Tony for making this possible.

The world is a better place because of Tony Baskill.

Andy Thomlinson,
On behalf of all those involved in the 2007 Baskiville Challenge.

Excellent, it couldn't have gone to a better cause, thank you Tony, Andy and the rest of the team who obviously parted with their own money in order to put on this event. Well done and a Merry Christmas.
