Stripping a 20 year old vehicle brings with it some special challenges... bolts are inevitably rusty, and choosing which parts to keep and which to scrap can be difficult.

First off, as much of the bodywork as possible needed to be removed. The roof, rear tub, seat box, bonnet and front wings are all straightforward and provide access to the chassis and bulkhead to see what needs doing.

It was clear very quickly that the bulkhead was beyond redemption and would need to be replaced. There was also patches of chassis which needed repair. The decision was taken to strip the vehicle down to a bare chassis and do a thorough job.

With all the bodywork removed, the engine and gearbox could be lifted out and the axles removed. This was going to be a full rebuild.
