Range Rover Bobtail / Fuel Tanks
Another problem with bob tailed Range’s is the fuel tank, or at least its location. I wanted to keep the spare wheel flat on the floor which complicated things some what. After several days looking at various tanks I settled on a long slim tall tank, we found it on an old Claas combine harvester. It was 42 inches long exactly the width of the Rangie, perfect. We cut the tank in half to give us two independent tanks and we also had to remove a corner of each tank in order for it to clear the wheel arches. We then made up mounts and fitted them directly behind the roll cage allowing us to fit the spare wheel on its side.
