110 Trayback / Roll Cage
The next step was to re fit the cab in readiness for fitting the Roll cage. The roll cage is one of our own produced in CDS (This is available either pre welded form or weld together, in this instance we used the weld together kit.)
Although we intended to use one of our weld together roll cages initially we used a pre welded cage as a mock up so that we could give some serious thought to our storage solutions. As this vehicle had to cope with extreme off road situations and fast stages we had already taken the decision to keep the weight as low as possible to improve our C of G, it also had to be able to store enough personal kit and spares to last a 7 to 10 day event. Matt and I spent several hours positioning and re positioning several bits of equipment until we thought hat we had a good idea of the direction that we were going in.
