110 Trayback / Rear tray panels
Things start to get complicated now because several jobs are being attended to all at the same time, Paul and Andrew are rebuilding the bulk head Martin was on the wiring and I started to make all the alloy panels for the tray. I had decided that I didn’t want the stark shininess of the alloy sheet so planned to get all the top sheets powder coated in a graphite grey and the lower sections in black. All the top plates are fastened with stainless screws and nuts whilst the storage compartments are riveted. I used bonnet latch pins to hold down the lids a simple but effective system.
The first thing that I did was make ply board templates it’s a lot cheaper to destroy a few pieces of ply rather then the expensive alloy. Once I was satisfied with the shape I cut them out of alloy using a guillotine and a plasma cutter, (it would be quite possible with a jig saw). I used stainless piano hinge for the two lids.
